Playful Kiss

                             Playful Kiss

South Korean dramas, more commonly known as Kdramas first caught my eye through Netflix the colourful posters standing out against the black background compelling me to bingewatch every episode until eventually season 1 was over.

However at first I was skeptical of having to read subtitles-due to not being a Korean speaker myself, nevertheless the episodes were filled with funny and cringeworthy language. Thus making me forget about the subtitles from the enjoyment of episodes.

The plot

Playful Kiss is a 2010 South Korean rom-com series, starring Jung So-min and   Kim Hyun-joong. The plot begins with Oh Ha Ni who is a nobody at school crushing on the top boy at her school Seungjo Baek when her house gets destroyed her fathers childhood best friend offers to house Ha Ni and her father. Turning up at her crush's front door Ha Ni is befriended by Seungjo's mother shipping the relationship from the beginning his mother making mischief often causing the most comical moments in the season. The season is a bildungroman showing the teenage development of the two protagonists from high school sweethearts to university then through to marriage.

Best moments

Definitely watching this kdrama had me in stitches laughing many times from the plot twists to character's behaviour specially Seungjo's mother, now from watching many kdramas she is very different from the stereotypical kdrama mother-in-law who is often the villain who disapproves of her sons girlfriend.I loved watching the wedding scene which was filled with humorous antics.

Summary

For my first kdrama Playful Kiss introduced me to the ideas of plots of kdramas and the Korean lifestyle, recommended for anyone who loves happy endings and comedy.
